What is a Special Librarian?

The special librarian adds value to their organization by providing efficient and effective information services for a defined group of customers. The unique contributions of the special librarian include expertise in the content and selection of the best available print and electronic information resources as well as a commitment to putting knowledge to work or, in other words, linking the information user with the right information resource at the right time.
