February 20th-21st: Federalist Society Annual Student Symposium: Nashville, Tennessee

Wednesday, January 21st: Presumption of Liberty?: Randy Barnett Speaking at CUA

The Federalist Society will be hosting Boston University professor Randy Barnett to speak on the subject of his new book: Presumption of Liberty: Restoring the Lost Constitution. Professor Robert Destro will comment on Prof. Barnett's argument.

 

Wednesday, January 14th: General Group Meeting

Meet in room 211 at noon for a group meeting. We will be discussing upcoming events, the student symposium in Nashville, TN, and enjoying delicious Papa John's pizza.

 

Thursday, October 30th: Advice and Consent: Debating the Role of the Senate in Judicial Confirmations

Join us for a debate between James Ho, cheif counsel on the Senate Subcommittee on the Constitution to Senator Cornyn, and Lisa Graves, cheif counsel to Senator Leahy, for an exciting debate.  The event begins at 5:00pm in room 307, and refreshments will be served afterward.

 

Friday, September 12th: Pub Night at Irish Times

Our chapter will be hosting the school-wide pub night this weekend.  Come to Kelley's Irish Times, across from Union Station, from 8:00pm until close for drink specials.

 

Wednesday, September 10th: Initial Fall Meeting:

Join us for pizza, soda, and a chance to meet your fellow chapter members. Meeting will be at 12:00 in room 305

 

Wednesday, July 23: Federalist Society Student-Division Bar Night

     This Wednesday at Buffalo Billiards, joing chapter members from across the country for the Federalist Society's annual student-division bar night. We will be meeting at Buffalo Billiards, which is at Dupont Circle just below Front Page, at 6:30.

 

May 7, 2003: End-of-the-year Study Break

     The Federalist Society will be sponsoring a study break on Wednesday, May 7th in the student lounge at 5:00pm. Take a break from studying for exams and enjoy free pizza and soda.

 

April 22, 2003: "More Guns, Less Crime?: a Debate on Gun Policy in America"

     Join the Federalist Society on Tuesday, April 22 in the Slowinsky Courtroom for "More Guns, Less Crime?" featuring John Lott Jr., author of "The Bias Against Guns." Refreshments will be served.

 

April 10, 2003: City-wide pub night at The Irish Times

     Join the Federalist Society, along with chapters from Georgetown, American, and George Mason for drink specials at the Irish Times, located across from Union Station.

 

April 9, 2003: End-of-the-year Chapter Meeting

     At 12:00 on Wednesday, April 9th, the Federalist Society will be having its end of the year chapter meeting in room #313. We will be holding elections for the 2003-2004 school year, and discussing chapter plans for the summer and fall. Pizza and soda will be served.
