Meet Us At The Pryz

Centerstage has moved its office and performance location! We are now located in 103H of The Edward J. Pryzbyla Center. In addition, many of our performances will now take place in The Great Room, located on the Third Floor of The Pryzbyla Center. Be sure to come see us break in the new space with our upcoming production of Songs for a New World.

Message from the President

It has been over three years since I had my first encounter with Centerstage. You're A Good Man Charlie Brown went off without much of a hitch, and I thought Centerstage was just about the coolest organization ever. After all, as a freshman, I got to make friends with seniors. What could be better?

Like many freshman, I was naive. It would not be long before there was the disaster of Grease, and then anarchy. I watched as a President who failed as a leader was removed, and a new leader with great promise, slipped on those very large shoes.

Centerstage kept trucking, but great promise does not always equal great action. We continued to loose parts of our collapsing vehicle to potholes in the road. After the production of Runaways, we were almost broken. We had been turned away from the assistance of almost every school and department on this campus, with the exception of one: the University Center, Student Programs and Events Office.

2001-2002 was a rebuilding season for Centerstage. Well reviewed shows of Godspell and A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum helped keep our humbled organization afloat. It would not be until the following year when, with new leadership, The Family Weekend Production, The Fantasticks would give us the fuel and confidence to move forward on a journey to become great.

Since then, we have successfully produced Assassins, and the new musical, Lullabies, written by a CUA student. We are organized, unified and determined for Centerstage to make a difference in the lives of the students here at The Catholic University of America. On behalf of Centerstage Theatre Company, I genuinely thank all those who have contributed to our recent success.

With Hope and Promise,

Holly Patteson
President, Centerstage Theatre, Co.
