About Centerstage:

Centerstage Theatre Company was founded in 1989. The organization strives "to provided the students of The Catholic University of America an outlet for good, amateur theatre in all aspects, thereof"( Centerstage's mission statement).

Centerstage, which is run through the Student Programs and Events Office, is recognized each year by the Undergraduate Student Government (USG). Centerstage thrives on the volunteer work of its members in order to achieve the type of theatre described in the aforementioned mission statement. In addition, every aspect of the organization is made possible by its student members

Centerstage provides a structured outlet for creative students who would like to direct, musical direct, choreograph, light design, costume design, and sound design a play or musical. This is not necessarily possible in any of the performance curriculums at the University. Centerstage aims to provide a safe environment where students can.

The company is composed of mostly Undergraduate Students. It typically produces three shows per academic year. In recent years, Centerstage has entertained the campus community with productions like,

The Rocky Horror Show, Grease, A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum, Assasins, and Do Black Patent Leather Shoes Really Reflect Up?

The Family Weekend Show is an integral part of Centerstage's history. Each fall, Centerstage and Campus Programs come together to provide entertainment for University family and friends who attend the weekend

long event. This family-fun experience has included shows such as, You're A Good Man Charlie Brown, Godspell, The Fantasticks, and, most recently, Songs for a New World.

Other productions take place late in the first semester, or early in the second semester. There is almost always a production at the very end of the second semester, as well. Specific show dates for the current or upcoming season can be found under the Current Season.
