Mission

The Catholic University Student Chapter of the American Society for Information Science exists to promote and foster the goals of its student members and those of the organization. ASIS&T is a professional association organized for scientific, literary, and educational purposes and dedicated to the creation, organization and dissemination, and application of knowledge concerning information and its transfer. ASIS&T has existed for over 54 years and its professional membership consists of over 4,000 members from various fields, including library and information science.

Membership

CUA SLIS students may join ASIS&T for the special student rate of $40. Applications are available  through the ASIS&T membership page on the World Wide Web. Students are encouraged to join ASIS&T, but membership in the professional organization is not required for students interested in joining the CUA Student Chapter of ASIS&T. Sign up for our listserve!  Send a message to listserv@lists.cua.edu, leave the subject line blank, and type in the body of the message "subscribe cua_asist firstname lastname." Scholarship information may be obtained through the local Potomac Valley Chapter of ASIS&T. Information about local ASIS&T events may also be obtained through the chapter offices as well as the Potomac Valley Chapter newsletter.
